High temperature NBR O-ring kit
High temperature NBR O-ring kit
Product Overview
Polypac's High temperature NBR O-ring kit is engineered for systems that demand reliable sealing under elevated temperatures and aggressive hydraulic fluids. Each kit contains a carefully selected range of O-ring sizes made from specially formulated high-temperature NBR compounds, providing improved heat resistance while retaining the classic oil and fuel compatibility of nitrile elastomers. The kits are ideal for maintenance teams, OEMs, and field service operations requiring ready access to common sizes and rapid replacement.
Material & Performance
Our high-temperature NBR blends are optimized to operate beyond standard NBR limits, offering extended thermal stability, excellent resistance to mineral oils, hydraulic fluids, and many lubricants, and good mechanical strength. Polypac's R&D collaborates with universities and research institutes to refine compound formulations that minimize compression set and swelling at elevated temperatures, ensuring longer service life and consistent sealing performance in dynamic and static applications.
Applications
The High temperature NBR O-ring kit is designed for hydraulic systems, oil seals, pumps, compressors, automotive engine components, and industrial machinery exposed to higher operating temperatures. Typical uses include mobile hydraulics, industrial presses, and oil-handling equipment where standard NBR would age prematurely. Kits cater to both routine maintenance and critical repair needs, reducing downtime with on-hand, high-quality seals.
Customization & Quality Assurance
Polypac manufactures custom rubber rings and O-rings across a wide range of sizes and tolerances. Our factory spans over 10,000 square meters and uses advanced production and testing equipment to ensure each High temperature NBR O-ring kit meets strict quality criteria. We support bespoke formulations, durometers, and packaging options, and conduct comprehensive testing to validate temperature, compression set, hardness, and fluid compatibility.
Ordering & Support
Ordering is straightforward: choose a standard kit or request a custom solution tailored to your operating conditions. Polypac provides technical consultation, material selection guidance, and fast turnaround. For teams seeking durable, cost-effective high-temperature sealing solutions, our O-ring kits combine material science, manufacturing scale, and field-proven performance.

What does "AS568" mean?
AS568 is the Aerospace Standard that defines the dimensions for over 360 standard O-ring sizes. It is the most widely accepted sizing system in North America and globally. An AS568 number (e.g., AS568-214) specifies a precise inside diameter and cross-section.
When should I use a spring-energized seal instead of a standard elastomeric seal?
Consider a spring-energized seal (e.g., GSF, SPN types) for demanding applications involving: Extreme Temperatures (below -30°C or above +200°C) Aggressive Chemicals that elastomers can't handle Very Low Leakage or "Zero Leakage" requirements Poor Lubricity or dry running conditions The internal spring maintains constant sealing force, compensating for wear and system variables.
Can I reuse a seal?
We strongly recommend never reusing seals. Once compressed and used, a seal takes a "set" and its elastic properties are degraded. Reusing it almost always results in a leak. Always install a new seal during any maintenance or repair.
How can I prevent seal damage during installation?
Use Tools: Always use dedicated installation tools (e.g., picks, cones, guides). Lubricate: Always lubricate the seal and the contact surface. Protect Sharp Edges: Cover sharp threads and edges with tape or use an installation sleeve. Check the Groove: Ensure the installation groove is clean, deburred, and undamaged.
What is the purpose of the metal spring in a rotary shaft seal?
The garter spring in a shaft seal (e.g., FSKR, SPGO types) provides a constant radial force on the sealing lip. This ensures consistent contact with the rotating shaft, compensating for minor wear, eccentricity, and vibration to prevent lubricant leakage.
