Polypac Hydraulic Cylinder Seals — Custom PTFE & O-ring Solutions
Polypac Seals for Hydraulic Cylinders — Reliable, Custom, High-Performance
Polypac manufactures precision seals designed specifically for Hydraulic Cylinders, combining advanced materials and rigorous testing to deliver long-lasting, leak-free performance. As a specialist seal manufacturer and oil seal supplier since 2008, Polypac integrates material science, production scale, and custom engineering to meet OEM and aftermarket demands.
Expert Seal Design for Hydraulic Cylinders
Our design team optimizes seal geometries and compound selection for Hydraulic Cylinders to minimize friction, resist extrusion, and maintain pressure integrity. We produce filled PTFE variants (bronze, carbon, graphite, MoS2, glass) and elastomer O-rings in NBR, FKM, EPDM, silicone, and FFKM to match fluid compatibility and temperature profiles.
Advanced Manufacturing & Quality Control
Polypac's custom rubber ring and O-ring factory spans over 10,000 m² with 8,000 m² of production space and industry-leading equipment. Every seal for Hydraulic Cylinders undergoes dimensional inspection, material analysis, and dynamic testing to ensure consistent performance and compliance with client specifications.
Custom Solutions for Extreme Working Conditions
From high-pressure hydraulic systems to abrasive or chemically aggressive environments, our seals are tailored to the working condition. We develop special compounds and hybrid constructions that extend service life, reduce downtime, and maintain sealing even under rapid cycling or temperature extremes.
Applications and Performance Benefits
Polypac seals are used across construction equipment, agricultural machinery, industrial presses, and mobile hydraulics. Benefits include reduced leakage, improved energy efficiency, lower maintenance costs, and reliable operation across a wide range of hydraulic cylinder designs.
Why Choose Polypac for Hydraulic Cylinders
With long-term partnerships with universities and research institutes and a history of innovation since 2008, Polypac combines R&D depth with manufacturing scale. We offer fast prototyping, custom tooling, and global supply capabilities—ensuring your Hydraulic Cylinders get the right seal, the first time.

Why did my O-ring fail prematurely?
Common causes of O-ring failure include: Chemical Incompatibility: Swelling, softening, or cracking due to fluid exposure. Improper Sizing: Using an incorrect size leads to over-compression or inadequate sealing force. Abrasion: Wear and tear from rough surface finishes or contaminated fluid. Extrusion: The seal is forced into the gap between metal parts under high pressure. Installation Damage: Nicks, cuts, or twists during assembly.
When should I use a spring-energized seal instead of a standard elastomeric seal?
Consider a spring-energized seal (e.g., GSF, SPN types) for demanding applications involving: Extreme Temperatures (below -30°C or above +200°C) Aggressive Chemicals that elastomers can't handle Very Low Leakage or "Zero Leakage" requirements Poor Lubricity or dry running conditions The internal spring maintains constant sealing force, compensating for wear and system variables.
How important is surface finish on the metal parts that contact the seal?
Extremely important. A rough surface will abrade and wear out the seal quickly, causing leaks. A finish that is too smooth can prevent a lubricating film from forming. A typical recommended surface finish for dynamic applications is 0.2 to 0.8 μm (8-32 μin) Ra.
What is the difference between a static seal and a dynamic seal?
A Static Seal is used between two surfaces that do not move relative to each other (e.g., pipe flanges, end caps). O-rings and gaskets are common static seals. A Dynamic Seal is used between surfaces that do move (e.g., piston and cylinder, rotating shaft). Rod seals, piston seals, and rotary shaft seals are designed for this purpose.
