Polypac designs and manufactures High Quality Mining Cylinder Seal products engineered for the extreme demands of mining hydraulics. Our seals protect cylinders, rods and pistons against abrasion, contamination and severe pressures. With experience dating to 2008, Polypac combines proven filled PTFE formulations and elastomeric O-rings to deliver long service life and minimal downtime.
Materials & Performance
We offer bronze-filled PTFE, carbon-filled PTFE, graphite PTFE, MoS₂-filled PTFE and glass-filled PTFE, plus elastomers such as NBR, FKM, silicone, EPDM and FFKM. Each Mining Cylinder Seal is selected for optimal friction, wear resistance and chemical compatibility, helping maintain seal integrity under high load, temperature swings and contaminated oil common in mining operations.

When should I use a spring-energized seal instead of a standard elastomeric seal?
Consider a spring-energized seal (e.g., GSF, SPN types) for demanding applications involving: Extreme Temperatures (below -30°C or above +200°C) Aggressive Chemicals that elastomers can't handle Very Low Leakage or "Zero Leakage" requirements Poor Lubricity or dry running conditions The internal spring maintains constant sealing force, compensating for wear and system variables.
