1. Application and properties
Suitable for medium and high-pressure sealing, installed behind the O-ring seal to prevent the extrusion of the
sealing component. The sealing capacity of the sealing component with the installed back-up ring generally increases
by 10-30 MPa compared to the sealing component without a back-up ring. The performance structure ratio and
performance cost ratio are both high, and it has been widely used.
The adaptability to media and operating conditions can be met by choosing suitable materials, so it can be used
in various working conditions.
According to whether they are open, back-up rings can be divided into open and non-open back-up rings. If it is
particularly difficult to install non-open backup rings or cannot be installed at all, open back-up rings are used.
Otherwise, non-open back-up rings are preferred.
