1. Application and properties
Suitable for sealing of medium and high pressure cylinders, installed behind the sealing element (U-shaped seal)
to prevent the sealing element from being squeezed out. The sealing element with the installed back-up ring generally
has a pressure-bearing capacity increased by 10-30MPa compared to the sealing element without back-up ring. It
has high performance and cost-effectiveness ratio and has been widely used.
The adaptability to both medium and working conditions can be achieved by selecting appropriate materials,
making it suitable for use in various working environments.
Back-up rings can be divided into two types: open-end and closed-end. If installing a closed-end ring is particularly
difficult or even impossible, an open-end ring should be used. Otherwise, a closed-end ring should be used whenever
possible.
2. Standard material
Filled PTFE / PA / POM / PU / Rubber, etc. are all commonly used materials for back-up rings.
Select according to actual working conditions.
Generally, U-shaped rings use a back-up ring filled with PTFE, filled with PA or fill with POM
